Standing Seam Systems
Concealed-fastener panels with raised, locked seams. No exposed screws on the main roof surface means fewer places for water to ever get in.

Metal is the roof you put on once. A properly installed standing seam roof typically lasts 40 to 70 years, against 20 to 30 for asphalt. It doesn't curl, crack, or lose granules. Snow slides off instead of sitting there feeding ice dams. Wind has a hard time getting under interlocked panels. For a house you plan to stay in, the math can work.
There are two main types. Standing seam uses concealed fasteners under raised, locked seams, so there are no exposed screws to back out and no rubber washers to dry-rot. Exposed-fastener panels cost less and suit garages, porches, and outbuildings, but the screws need checking over the years. For a main house in North Jersey, standing seam is usually the better long-term choice.
Metal isn't right for every home or every budget, and Bryant will tell you if it doesn't make sense for yours. It costs more up front than shingles, and the details matter more: panel layout, trim, flashing, and room for the metal to expand and contract as temperatures swing. Many homeowners use it as an accent over porches, bay windows, and dormers.
What’s included
Every metal roofing job gets the same treatment: a written scope, the owner checking the work, and a site left cleaner than we found it.
Concealed-fastener panels with raised, locked seams. No exposed screws on the main roof surface means fewer places for water to ever get in.
Porches, bay windows, dormers, and low-slope sections where shingles struggle are good candidates for metal, even when the main roof stays asphalt.
Metal gets hot in July. Underlayment rated for high temperatures goes beneath the panels, with ice and water protection at eaves and valleys.
Ridge caps, rake trim, valley pans, and wall flashing are fitted to your roof. On metal, the trim work is what separates a good job from a leaky one.
Snow comes off metal in sheets. Where that would land on a walkway, deck, or doorway, snow guards hold it in place to melt off gradually.
Factory-applied finishes come in a wide range of colors and resist fading and chalking. We help you choose one that suits the house.

“Bryant was amazing throughout the entire process. I had both my roof and siding replaced and being a 20 year old that was doing this for the first time it was super stressful at first but Titan Exterior made it really easy and smooth from start to finish.”
“His team was extremely responsive. In fact, they took care of a secondary issue on the roof I couldn’t see clearly but suspected, saving another inside leak situation. Professional team, very reasonably priced, highly recommended! Just made the process easy.”
Not on a house. The drumming people imagine comes from barns with metal over open framing. On a home, the panels sit over solid decking and underlayment, above an insulated attic. Most homeowners notice little or no difference from a shingle roof. Hail is a bit more audible, but it's nothing like the racket people expect.
Yes, noticeably more up front. The material costs more, and installation takes more skill and time. The trade-off is lifespan. A metal roof typically lasts two to three times as long as asphalt, so over the decades the cost per year can come out comparable or better. Whether that works for you depends on how long you plan to stay.
No. Lightning goes for the highest point in an area, regardless of what it's made of. A metal roof doesn't raise the odds of a strike. If one does happen, metal is noncombustible and spreads the energy across its surface, which makes it safer than many roofing materials, not more dangerous.
Sometimes it's allowed, but we want to see the deck. Going over old shingles hides any rot, can telegraph the uneven surface through the panels, and traps moisture if it isn't detailed correctly. In most cases, a tear-off gives you a flatter, longer-lasting result. We'll look at your roof and give you an honest recommendation.
