Asphalt shingles cover most of the homes in North Jersey for good reason. They handle our climate, they look right on a colonial, a cape, or a split-level, and they cost less than any other quality roofing material. But shingles aren't all equal. The old flat three-tab style is thin and prone to wind damage. Modern architectural shingles are thicker, layered, and rated for much higher winds.
We install TAMKO Titan XT, an architectural shingle with a reinforced nailing zone and an aggressive sealant strip that help it stay put when a nor'easter leans on your roof. For homes under big trees or in spots that see hail, TAMKO StormFighter IR is an impact-resistant shingle made to take hits that would bruise a standard one. We also install Atlas shingle lines.
A shingle is only as good as what's under it and how it's nailed. High nails, missing starter strips, and poor ventilation are what blow roofs off and get warranty claims denied. We install to manufacturer specifications, and we're a TAMKO Pro Certified Contractor. 50-year shingle options are available, and Bryant will explain plainly what each warranty level actually covers.

What’s included
Every asphalt shingles job gets the same treatment: a written scope, the owner checking the work, and a site left cleaner than we found it.
We put TAMKO and Atlas options side by side and explain the real differences in thickness, wind rating, impact resistance, and warranty, without the brochure talk.
See actual samples against your siding, brick, and trim in daylight. A roof color is a decision you live with for decades, so take your time.
Correct nail count and placement, starter strips at eaves and rakes, and sealed edges. These unglamorous details decide whether shingles survive high wind.
Purpose-made hip and ridge shingles finish the roofline and protect the most wind-exposed part of the roof, instead of cut-up field shingles.
StormFighter IR shingles are worth a look if hail, falling branches, or acorns and debris from overhanging trees are part of life at your house.
Trapped attic heat and moisture age shingles early. We check the airflow before the new roof goes on and correct it if it's short.
From your neighbors
“The guys worked efficiently and did an amazing job! Highly recommend.”
“We recently had 2 roofs replaced — ours and my mother’s. Bryant walked us through the entire process with frequent updates, stuck to the schedule, and made sure the sites were perfectly clean afterwards. We were very impressed with their efficiency.”
Three-tab shingles are a single flat layer cut to look like three pieces. Architectural shingles are two or more layers laminated together, which makes them heavier, more wind-resistant, longer-lasting, and better looking, with a dimensional shadow line. Architectural shingles are the standard today. Few homeowners choose three-tab for a full roof anymore, and for good reason.
They can be. If your house sits under mature trees or you've had hail damage before, an impact-resistant shingle like TAMKO StormFighter IR holds up better to repeated hits. Some insurance companies offer discounts for impact-rated roofs, so it's worth a call to yours. On an open lot with no history of damage, a standard architectural shingle may be plenty.
Almost always algae. It feeds on the limestone filler in shingles and thrives in New Jersey humidity, especially on shaded, north-facing slopes. It's mostly cosmetic. Moss is a bigger concern, because it holds moisture and lifts shingle edges. Many modern shingles include algae-resistant granules. Never pressure wash a roof. It strips the granules right off.
It refers to the manufacturer's limited warranty term on certain shingle lines, not a promise that the roof will look new for 50 years. Coverage varies by product and changes over the warranty period, and the installation has to meet the manufacturer's specifications. Bryant will walk you through the actual terms for any shingle you're considering.
